A Seaside Paradise - Xiropigado

Xiropigado, is a fishing village in the Argolic gulf with its own magnificent pebbly beach, surrounded by an green nature. It is the first village of the Arcadia region connected also with Argolis, where many sightseeings from Ancient Greece can be found, such as the famous Ancient Theater Of Epidaurus.

We strongly recommend the following visits while in the Peloponesse, since from our location all the Peloponessian sightseeings are within reach by car.

Magnificent View From Palamidi Fortress - Nafplion

In just 25 minutes drive (and approximately 999 stairs), you can and should, enjoy the magnificent view offered by the Palamidi Fortress. The fortress built by the Venetians in the 17th century can be found in Nafplion, which was the first capital of Greece. Ancient cannons, the view over the Argolic gulf and 300 year old stones will take your breath away.

Ancient Theater Of Epidaurus - Argolis

From us you are only less than hour from the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus. This Ancient Theater is more than 2.000 years old and even today many Greek and foreign visitors enjoy plays at its premises. Due to its unique architecture and incomparable acoustics, the actors can be heard without the use of technological amplifications, by every single one of the spectators. It has a capacity of 15.000, while it is being surrounded by a slope of trees.

Every summer, since 1954, the famous Athens Epidaurus Festival takes place with famous ancient & modern dramas. More information on the event can be found HERE.

The Ancient Stronghold - Mycenae

Located 40 minutes from Xiropigado, you must see site of the ancient Greek civilization, Mycenae. The large palace built around a central hall was a center of political, religious as well as commercial power. What you see in the picture is Lion's Gate at Mycenae, the main entrance to the citadel that still remains standing.

Ancient Corinth & The Corinth Canal

On the direction to Athens and approximately 1 hour drive, you will find the city of Corinth. We recommend doing this tour, on your way back to Athens if you depart from the capital of Greece, if not, just plan a half day tour and drive through. In Corinth, you have many options of sightseeing, but we would like to recommend the Corinth Canal and the Ancient Corinth. The Canal was completed 40? years ago and offers an amazing view from the bridge and even bungee jumping for the most strong witted. Ancient Corinth, on the other hand is a very important archaeological site with the Doric Temple of Apollo, which was built around 540 BC.

The Mother of the Olympic Games - Ancient Olympia

Olympia is listed under protection by UNESCO, while this excursion is a bit longer and would take up a whole day of your vacation, since it requires almost a 3 hour drive and there is a lot to see. But it is highly recommended since this Archaeological site is the birthplace of the Olympic games and has sightings such as the Altar of The Olympic flame, the Stadium along with the Temples of Zeus and Hera. There is also a magnificent archaeological museum with exhibits such as the statue of Hermes and other beautiful discoveries. This excursion is a bit longer almost a 3 hour drive but there is a lot to see. It is highly recommended since this archaeological site is the birthplace of the Olympic games and you can visit the Altar of The Olympic flame, the Stadium along with the Temples of Zeus and Hera. There is also a magnificent archaeological museum with exhibits such as the statue of Hermes and other masterpieces of ancient art.
